26TH AUGUST FAMILY MEET

Dear Friends,
A memorable family meeting at Hotel Surya Palace on 26th August, 2010. 29 Rotarians and 6 guests remained present in the meeting. All those who were present said only one thing - Yeh Dil Maange More !

President Premal called the meeting to order sharp at 8.15 p.m. and invited IPP Sharmishtha Desai to recite the prayer that she had said at Montreal Convention, Canada.

After the prayer President gave his short and sweet opening remarks and invited Primary Contact for Atmanirbhar Nileshbhai to give details of Mehamdabad Camp. Nileshbhai informed everybody about his trip to Mehamdabad last Saturday for the planning and preparations.

Then President invited me as I had received correspondence from Vipul from Mehamdabad about their preparation. They have gone to 40 villages personally in four teams of 2 members each. Newspaper coverage cutting received are indicative of good efforts. The District Development Officer and Principals of schools are informed about the camp. They were also provided list of 520 patients registered in the Government record, which have been sent personal letters by Rotary Club. The list was handed over to First Lady for records. Overall it looks good preparation from Rotary Club of Mehamdabad.

Then was the turn for Speaker of the Day - our own Rishiraj Mistry but before that Ann Beejal explained some of the important facets of his creativity and success. Then Rishiraj revealed some of the not known facts and the emerging new trends. He had many questions from the audience, which he answered with utmost honesty and wits. He respected Members demand and showed couple of short videos (Lanxess, One Step, Lock & Key) of 5 minutes and advertisements of 1 & 1/2 minutes. Then for the first time, everyone saw Project Nishtha (Relocation of village Dhutarpar) the way he had perceieved, captured and presented to the world. Naturally he got thunderous applause for the beautiful creation, which has earned accolades from the Rotary world. Some of the 10 year old members members had also never seen the mamoth task that we had undertaken. That was truly saga of service that RCBM clan is known for.

After that came the turn for the master piece, which has earned him accolades and the second prize from Balki (Paa Fame Director) in the recent past. It is a 5 minute short film called "UNHEARD." It was altogether a new experience for all our members.

President himself proposed the vote of thanks to the creative genius of our club. After the meeting ended with singing of the National Anthem, Rishiraj and Beejal were busy answering questions till 10.15.

Everyone enjoyed Rachna's selected menu and relished the food.

NEXT MEETING
Mehamdabad Camp on 28th / 29th August. It has been decided to meet at Rotary Hall, Race Course at 7.30 a.m. It is expected to have more patients and hence more help is needed. Those who can, please do so.

ROTARY MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR, MEHAMDABAD - 22nd AUGUST
Kudos to Rotary Club of Mehamdabad - a small club in infancy, who hosted the Intercity Meet very well. Hotel Blue Berry at Nadiad was comfortable and cozy place where the Seminar was held. Total number of registrants was about 150. Baroda clubs were represented badly by only 5 persons from Baroda - 3 from RCBM and 2 from RC JW.
Chief Guest Aloke Billore showed the statistics well and was full of new ideas.
DG Devang was oozing with enthusiasm and steered the Intercity Meet in two roles - (1) As DG and (2) As acting Chairman, as Chairman- Membership PDG Dr. Nilax Mufti could not remain present.
AG Pinky Patel was recognized by Governor.
I performed as Moderator for the debate (EREY for Membership - Yes or No). Unfortunately, Rotarians could not produce the fireworks, which was expected din a debate but meaningful suggestions were made by all the participants. Overall it was a good experience. To be honest, if I tell you my impressions about our club's performance then it could be said without hesitation in a Gujarati Proverb - "Ekda Wagarna Minda Nakama." In other words, when President and Secretary are not there, no one wants to come!?
Let me remind you that on 28th / 29th we have Atmanirbhar Camp at Mehamdabad, hosted by RC Mehamdabad. DO NOT FORGET TO ATTEND THAT.
